An estimated 1.1 to 4.2% of the female U.S. population suffers from Bulimia.
Bulimia is an eating disorder whereby the person has recurrent episodes of unrestrained eating, followed by activities to purge the excess food eaten such as self-induced regurgitation, using medications, etc. People with bulimia often perform the behaviors in secrecy, feeling ashamed when they eat, yet relieved once they purge.
