Cancer myths are dangerous to your health. Believing in such myths prevent you from having test and required treatments to detect and cure the cancer. Following is a list of myths:
· Cancer is contagious: Truth: Cancer is not contagious. It is all right to couch someone who has cancer. There are two types of cancer, cervical and liver which are caused by viruses. These two cancers are transmitted through sexual intercourse or infected needles.
· Cancer spreads when exposed to air during surgery: Exposure to air will not lead to spreading of cancer. The reality is that when a doctor performs surgery, the doctor may find that the cancer is more widespread that previously thought and this may lead to patient feeling worse.
· Positive attitude improves cancer survival: Positive attitude can help your quality of life during the treatment process but it won’t cure the cancer. There is no scientific study that suggests that positive attitude will affect the outcome.
