Neither should you be confused by our frequent references to "plain English". Some documents (like tenancy agreements) are so totally infiltrated by statute and case law that it is impossible to avoid some jargon. For others, like contracts of employment, government has invented a whole new jargon which we all have to assimilate. Such documents contain far less jargon and you can make whatever deal you like.
No UK legal documents are entirely free of jargon because a word that you may call jargon has a very particular meaning which has been defined in law. We use that word because to do so is the simplest way to convey the exact meaning necessary to protect your rights.
Tough or soft? - Net Lawman legal documents are decidedly tough. In the UK, we do not have to cater for many different jurisdictions, so the repetitions and circles you find in US terms are absent in UK legal documents. But make no mistake, you are well protected.
