Reactive Dyes
Vinyl Sulphone Based Reactive Dyes
1. GENERAL
Reactive Dyes are Vinyl Sulphone based Reactive Dyes. They react chemically under suitable conditions with Cellulose based materials yielding brilliant shades with good fastness properties.
Ramazol Dyes offer high solubility in water and suitable for both Exhaust/Pad-batch Dyeing and Discharge Printing.
These Dyestuffs are unstable under alkaline condition, and therefore water used for their dissolution should be neutral.
As the Dyestuffs react chemically with Cellulose based materials, the dyed materials posses good fastness properties.
It is possible to use mixture of Ramazole Dyes for getting combination shades. For this application Ramazol Dyes of similar properties are to be used.
Unfixed Dyes, if any, remaining on goods after dyeing process can be removed by after treatment at boil.
Ramazol Dyes give brilliant hues of high level fastnesson cellulose based materials.
2. DYE SOLUTION :
Remezol Dyes are dissolved by pasting it with a little waterr and pouring boiling hot water over it under strring. The water used should be neutral.
DYEING METHOD :
1. Exhaust Dyeing Method :
Take well prescoured material, ensure that pH of the material is below 7.
Add predissolved dye and run for 10 min. at 40ºc.
Add 90 gms./Lit. Common salt for non-mercerised (cotton knit) fabric (60 gms./lit. Common salt for mercerised fabric)
Addition of Common Salt in 3 instalments at an interval of 10 min. Raise the temp. to 60ºc in 20 min. and run for 20 min.
Add 10.0 gms./lit. Soda Ash and run for 1 hour.
Add 0.5 gms./lit. Caustic Soda (Flakes) and run for 30 min.
AFTER TREATMENT :
Rinse cold, give hot wash with 2 cc/lit. Acetic Acid and run for 20 gm./lit.low foamine detergent & 1gm./lit protective colloied. Repeat the soaping process again for achieving better fastness propertise. Hot wash, followed by cold wash.
NOTE:
Instead of 10 gms./lit. Soda Ash and 0.5 gms./lit. Caustic Soda one can use only 20 gms./lit. Soda ash and complete the dyeing in one hour.
While dyeing with Soda Ash+Caustic Process, take care, that the tempersture of dyebath should not increase above 60ºc.

Vinyl Sulphone Based Reactive Dyes
Hot Brand Reactive Dyes
He Dyes are Reactive Dyes for Cellulosic material and designed to give high fixation by exhaust dyeing method when applied at the temperature 75ºC-95ºC.
METHOD OF DYEING: By Exhaust Dyeing:
Take well prescoured fabric and ensure that the pH of the fabric is 7, if require adjust pH by adding Acetic Acid. Take soft water for dyeing, if the water is hard, add sequestering agent to achieve best result.
Set the dye bath at 50ºC and add predissolve dye in two portion and run for 10 min.
Add 5 gms./lit. common salt for deep shade (2.5 gms./lit. for pale shade) and run for 10 min. start raising temperature to 80ºC - 85ºC in 30 min.
During raising temperature, 20 gms./lit. common salt (10 gms./lit. for pale shade) after first 10 min. and add 25 gms./lit. common salt (8 - 10 gms./lit. for pale shade) after another 10 min. and continue dye for 15 min. after reaching the temperature to 80ºC - 85ºC.
Add Alkali slowly in 15 min. and continue dyeing for further 45 - 75 min
Cold Brand Reactive Dyes (Reactive 'M' Dyes)
INTRODUCTION: Reactive Cold Brand Dyestuffs are fibre reactive dyes which form a chemical linkage with Hydroxyl groups of Cellulose and thus give dyeing and printing good fastness to wet treatments.
DISSOLVING OF DYESTUFF: Dyestuff is pasted with cold water and dissolved by string with warm water at 50ºC.
DYEING OF COLD BRANDS REACTIVE DYES: (for jigger dyeing): Set the dye bath at 30-40ºC temperature and Load the goods. Run for 5-10 minute. Add Common Salt or Caleined Gluber's Salt 25 to 50 g/lit., and runfor 20-30 minutes. Add dissolved Soda Ash, 2 to 10 g/lit. and continue dyeing for 30-60 minutes. For better Fixation raise the temperature to 60ºC in 30 minutes, offer Soda Ash addition and run dye bath for 60 minutes.
REMARK: Low substantive Dyes are not suitable by exhaust method. For 'me' Brand Dyeing, Standard Salt and Alkali are required.
Reactive 'HE' Dyes
He Dyes are Reactive Dyes for Cellulosic material and designed to give high fixation by exhaust dyeing method when applied at the temperature 75ºC-95ºC.
